About Plains of Pain
Humanity reached the pinnacle of technology before catastrophe struck: colossal solar flares from the sun obliterated Mercury and Venus, and Earth soon faced a merciless inferno. The planet’s surface scorched, governments abandoned the masses in secret evacuations, and civilization shattered into chaos. Now a barren wasteland of drought and heat, the remnants of humanity struggle to survive amid madness and ruin. Two factions vie for control, each claiming to be humanity’s salvation but with vastly different visions for the future. As a nameless survivor without past or protection, your journey begins in this hostile world. Navigate the harsh environment by trading, building, and exploring ruins while deciding whether to ally with a faction or forge your own path through difficult moral choices and constant threats. Plains of Pain offers a deep survival experience with solo, cooperative, and multiplayer modes, including LAN and online servers. Construct bases or entire settlements using modular components, purify water, craft weapons and gear, and defend your outposts from relentless hordes of heat-crazed enemies. Traverse the wasteland in customizable hovering vehicles, manage vital needs like hunger, thirst, and radiation, and engage in faction wars by capturing outposts to shift power. Earn reputation through quests, trading, and combat to unlock unique opportunities, while dynamic events such as meteor showers and extreme heat demand quick thinking and adaptation. Procedurally generated worlds ensure each playthrough is unique, and ongoing development promises new content, deeper storylines, and expanded gameplay. Plains of Pain challenges you to survive in a brutal, unforgiving landscape where every decision matters.

- Once the game is finished downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to Plains of Pain v0.8.0.32.zip” (To do this you will need 7-Zip, which you can get here, or you can use the built in windows extractor).
- Double click inside the Plains of Pain v0.8.0.32 folder and run the setup application. Accept the EULA, and install the game. Then, launch the game through the desktop shortcut.
