About Below the Crown

Below the Crown invites you to delve into a dark and mysterious dungeon where the Emperor demands gold, and you are the wizard tasked with retrieving it. Assemble a party featuring a Rook, an Archer, and a selection of powerful spells as you explore the depths, upgrade your team, and unlock new skills. The gold you collect can be spent to enhance your survival chances or saved for the Emperor’s coffers, adding a strategic layer to your decisions. Beneath the surface lies a deeper narrative, waiting to be uncovered as you face increasingly challenging foes and uncover the secrets lurking in the shadows. This game combines chess-inspired mechanics with fresh, fast-paced gameplay that avoids traditional complexities like memorizing openings or drawn-out endgames. You start with just one piece and summon new ones with unique abilities as you progress, while enemy movements remain straightforward until you encounter the dungeon’s bosses. Collect Undo Tokens to reverse mistakes or choose to gather more gold if you prefer riskier play. Engage with a vibrant community by posting your victories as challenges, watching top player replays, and tackling daily challenges. A custom board editor allows you to create and share new dungeon rooms, extending the game’s replayability. Additionally, the game features a psychological test element, prompting you to answer questions about your state of mind and relationships with your pieces as you journey deeper below the crown.

Instructions

• Click the Download button below and you will be redirected to UploadHaven.
• Wait 5 seconds and click on the blue ‘download now’ button. We recommend using a download manager for faster download speeds. (You can use FDM which is free here, or any other download manager).
• Once the game is finished downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to Below the Crown v1.006.zip” (To do this you will need 7-Zip, which you can get here, or you can use the built in windows extractor).
• Double click inside the Below the Crown v1.006 folder and run the setup application. Accept the EULA, and install the game. Then, launch the game through the desktop shortcut.
