Set in the year 3323, Retrace the Light immerses players in the groundbreaking Meta Mirror Project, a collaboration between humanity and the super AI “Primus” aimed at stabilizing society by repairing fractured human consciousness. Players assume the role of Enforcer Decem, who ventures into bizarre Mirrormazes—complex mental landscapes born from emotional turmoil—to solve puzzles and confront powerful Mirrormares. After a critical mission leaves Decem severely injured and amnesiac, the journey of rediscovery begins, gradually unveiling the hidden truths behind the project. The game’s innovative “Retrace” ability allows players to teleport back to previously visited locations, enabling strategic maneuvering in combat and clever puzzle-solving that challenges both reflexes and intellect. Players face a diverse roster of formidable bosses, each embodying human obsessions and presenting unique combat challenges ranging from colossal mechs to shape-shifting foes.
