This marked the last day of the world as the rooftops of Red Hives welcomed the dawn. In The Demons Told Me to Make This Game, you assume the role of Dark Wisp, a disembodied spirit unable to interact physically but able to possess people and whisper into their ears, influencing their actions. Your hosts are flawed and stubborn, prone to making fatal mistakes unless you intervene. With control over time, you can rewind and reshape events, experimenting with choices and timelines to help these unlikely heroes survive and, ultimately, save the world from impending cosmic horror. The game challenges you to navigate a series of Time Loops, each divided into Time Slots where you possess individual hosts, guiding them through interconnected events fraught with peril. Your hosts are autonomous, each with distinct personalities, requiring patience, manipulation, and sometimes cruelty to bend them toward survival. You will push them to commit acts against their nature, exploiting fears and weaknesses, or resort to a mini-game to seize control when persuasion fails. Beneath the quiet surface of Red Hives lies a history steeped in tragedy and dark secrets, with exorcists standing as the town’s fragile defense against eldritch evils. As you weave timelines and shape fates, the ultimate question remains: whose side are you truly on?
