About Project Songbird
Project Songbird is a first-person cinematic narrative psychological horror game from Conner Rush and FYRE Games, the studio behind critically praised titles like Summerland and We Never Left. Players assume the role of Dakota, a career musician grappling with writer’s block who retreats to a secluded cabin deep in the Appalachian forest to record their next album. This gripping experience blends exploration of natural environments and haunting dreamscapes with a dark, enthralling story that unfolds over 4-5 hours. Featuring a cinematic, film-like aesthetic, the game offers diverse settings alongside ranged and melee combat, where upgradeable weapons are essential for surviving the nightmarish journey. The game boasts a stellar voice cast, including Valerie Rose Lohman (What Remains of Edith Finch), Jonah Scott (Dying Light 2: Stay Human), and Aleks Le (Persona 3: Reload), enhancing its immersive narrative. Complementing the atmosphere is a beautifully dynamic and haunting soundtrack composed and performed by Jacob Noska and Jonah Henthorne of Auric Echoes. As a deeply personal project by solo developer Conner Rush, Project Songbird reflects a unique creative vision shaped through experimentation and passion. - Once the game is finished downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to Project Songbird v1.2.0.zip” (To do this you will need 7-Zip, which you can get here, or you can use the built in windows extractor).
- Double click inside the Project Songbird v1.2.0 folder and run the setup application. Accept the EULA, and install the game. Then, launch the game through the desktop shortcut.
