Humanica takes you on a journey through human development beginning in 10,000 B.C., challenging you to guide your settlement from the Paleolithic era to the Iron Age. Progressing through a vast technology tree, your playstyle will evolve as new tools and methods become available, requiring constant adaptation to changing conditions. As your community grows, you will engage in essential activities such as building, gathering, crafting, farming, animal husbandry, and smelting bronze and iron. Early survival is critical, with limited resources demanding careful management to ensure settlers are fed and clothed. The game’s turn-based structure divides gameplay into daily cycles, where each day offers a fixed amount of work for your settlers, encouraging efficient planning and strategic decision-making to keep your settlement thriving. Explore a procedurally generated, hexagonal world map to discover valuable resources like seeds and animals, while mastering an innovative construction system based on irregular quadrilateral grids that let you reshape the landscape, even digging mountains or building them up. Defend your growing settlement from wild animals and nomadic threats by arming your settlers and constructing walls with towers.
