Set in the rain-soaked final years of Edo-period Japan, AMEDAMA weaves a gripping human drama rendered in evocative pixel art. After a violent attack leaves Yushin dead before his sister Yui’s eyes, his soul remains restless and incorporeal, determined to save her from a hidden, sinister plot. As a disembodied spirit, you must possess various bodies, gaining control over diverse weapons and fighting styles to navigate this dark, intricate world. Each new vessel opens different combat possibilities and encounters, immersing you in a tale where beauty and darkness intertwine beneath the relentless rain. The game’s core mechanic revolves around reliving the same seven-day period repeatedly, with your choices shaping the narrative’s progression and outcomes. Engaging in fierce battles, you’ll master the Usetsu Tensei sword style, employing the “Misty Riposte” technique to counter enemies and deal devastating damage. This cyclical journey challenges you to strategically decide who to trust and how to intervene, balancing urgency with careful planning as the clock ticks down on Yushin’s soul.
