Step through the mirror and enter the mesmerizing world of AiliA, a 3D visual puzzle game that invites you to navigate a fully interactive mirrored realm where reflections become tangible pathways. You play as Ail, a young girl on a quest to rescue her twin sister, Lia, who is trapped within these enigmatic mirror dimensions. Ail’s unique ability to phase through mirror surfaces allows you to traverse this surreal space, manipulating and rotating mirrors to alter your surroundings and unlock new routes. The game challenges you with over 100 intricately designed puzzles that blend reality and illusion, featuring innovative mechanics such as water reflections, mirror recursion, and even mirror-puzzle boss battles. As you progress, you’ll uncover hidden side quests, secret rooms, and collect Mirror Fragments that reveal fragmented storytelling and deepen the emotional bond between the sisters. Developed by a team from the NYU Game Center, AiliA draws from a rich Chinese aesthetic, transporting players through seven distinct scenes inspired by traditional art—from ink-wash bamboo forests to glazed mirror palaces. The game has received numerous international accolades, including the 2023 China Game Innovation Awards for Best Innovative Design. Complementing its captivating visuals is a unique soundtrack composed by Mark Benis, which fuses traditional Chinese instruments like the Erhu, Dizi, and Xiao with Western violin, employing musical techniques such as note inversion and melody reversal to reflect the core theme of “Reflection.” Through its poetic narrative and immersive design, AiliA explores themes of loss, memory, and reconciliation, creating a profound and unforgettable puzzle adventure.

- Once the game is finished downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to AiliA v1.0.7.zip” (To do this you will need 7-Zip, which you can get here, or you can use the built in windows extractor).
- Double click inside the AiliA v1.0.7 folder and run the setup application. Accept the EULA, and install the game. Then, launch the game through the desktop shortcut.
