About GatePass

GatePass is a 2D platformer where players guide Knot, a 30 cm tall dwarf, through a sprawling 100-layer labyrinth to find his way home. After a wild slime invades his room and transforms into a mysterious door, Knot becomes trapped in a strange world filled with five distinct stages, each featuring unique mechanics and environmental challenges. Players must carefully study and manipulate these systems, combining strategic use of objects with precise reflexes to advance. The labyrinth’s complexity increases as new traps and puzzles emerge, demanding both quick thinking and skillful platforming to overcome. Knot starts with three hit points, but every five deaths increase his life by one, up to a maximum of twelve, allowing less experienced players a balanced challenge. The game offers two endings: Exit Red, a lower difficulty path requiring completion of 50 levels, and Exit Green, a full-clear mode that tests players’ mastery over all 100 floors with intricate platforming and clever problem-solving. Estimated completion times range from over two hours for the shorter route to more than ten hours for the full experience. GatePass supports gamepad controls, though keyboard play is recommended for precise movement, especially in stages requiring simultaneous directional inputs. This careful design ensures that both casual and dedicated players can enjoy the journey through the labyrinth’s many secrets.
