About Awakeroots

Awakeroots is a hand-drawn survival game crafted with passion by two brothers—a programmer and an artist—set in a richly detailed world inspired by Slavic folklore. Players assume the role of settlers pioneering a wild, mythical land where every day is a challenge against hostile creatures and natural threats. Build and fortify your settlement by constructing walls, workshops, traps, and storage facilities, while cultivating a diverse range of crops to sustain your people. The environment is alive with mysteries and dangers, from legendary beings like Leshies, Rusalkas, and Noonwraiths to wild animals lurking in dense forests. Explore the wilderness to discover resources, minerals, and plants that can be crafted into potions, meals, weapons, armor, and building materials. Encounter wandering traders offering exotic goods vital for creating unique equipment, and survive as long as you can in this immersive, hand-drawn world. The game features multiple modes, including a Free Mode where players strive to survive as many days as possible, and an upcoming Campaign with missions centered on hunting monsters to obtain rare artifacts. A multiplayer co-op mode is currently in beta, allowing friends to join forces, with a full stable release planned for May 2026. Awakeroots is actively developed with regular updates improving optimization, UI, trading systems, and adding new monsters, items, and gameplay mechanics such as character progression and a technology tree. Planned features include online co-op, animal breeding, treasure hunting, defensive turrets, magical combat, and enhanced farming techniques. Developed after work hours by a dedicated two-person team, the game invites player feedback through social media and continues to evolve toward a fully realized survival experience.

Double click inside the Awakeroots v0.5.36 folder and run the setup application. Accept the EULA, and install the game. Then, launch the game through the desktop shortcut.
