About Besmirch
In Besmirch, you take on the role of a farmhand in a remote, struggling town where the land withers and fear grows alongside the Baron’s ever-increasing tithe. Whispers of apocalypse echo through shuttered windows as unholy creatures prowl beyond the fields each night, making your task daunting yet vital: keep the town alive long enough to save it. You’ll nurture fragile crops from barren soil, prepare scarce meals, and fiercely defend every sapling against relentless threats. Balancing survival means rationing your harvest carefully—sharing enough to ease the desperate townsfolk while still meeting the Baron’s grim demands. This cursed farm becomes both your refuge and your battlefield in a daily fight against decay and despair. Beyond the farm, the outskirts of Besmirch hide forgotten sins and secret places waiting to be uncovered. The crumbling Baron’s Mansion beckons exploration during daylight hours, offering valuable scavenging opportunities amidst haunted ruins. But when darkness falls, demons emerge, forcing you to rush home, seal the doors, and cling to your fading faith. The townspeople judge you not only by your deeds but also by omens, their blessings wavering with the rising hunger and suspicion. Navigating their superstitions and secrets is as crucial as tending the land, as survival depends on proving your worth in a community poisoned by fear and desperation. Xbox Controller support is included, with occasional mouse and keyboard use recommended for full control.
Instructions

- Once the game is finished downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to Besmirch v0.6.11.zip” (To do this you will need 7-Zip, which you can get here, or you can use the built in windows extractor).
- Double click inside the Besmirch v0.6.11 folder and run the setup application. Accept the EULA, and install the game. Then, launch the game through the desktop shortcut.
