Set in the turbulent year of 1698, Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege plunges players into a dark tale where Father Pacer, a fanatical priest, has shattered the fragile peace following the War of the Grand Alliance by violently stealing Catholic relics across the Holy Roman Empire. Players assume the role of Rudiger, an ex-soldier turned farmer, who must rise against this power-mad priest and his monstrous minions to protect his people. The game offers a rich 21-stage single-player campaign that can also be fully experienced in two-player co-op, blending strategic combat with a narrative driven by player choice. Throughout the journey, players will decide whether to help or harm those they encounter, influencing the unfolding story and gameplay outcomes. Saint Slayer features stunning, atmospheric NES-era pixel art paired with a killer 8-bit chiptune soundtrack that perfectly captures the grim yet nostalgic mood of the era.
