About Pluto

Pluto is a roguelike deckbuilder where you fight with your fingers, spill some blood, and race to make it to your niece’s birthday on time. You play as a not-so-heroic wizard imprisoned for wizard crime, abruptly awakened by an unexpected invitation. Your goal is to escape jail and navigate a hostile world teeming with danger. Each turn is a frantic mix of casting spell sigils, cracking bones, and desperate gestures as you unleash raw elemental power to shred monstrous foes. You’re not the chosen one—just a determined uncle trying to survive and arrive at the party in one piece. The game’s unique tactical spellcraft system challenges you to build spells from elemental patterns cast directly with your fingers. Recipes overlap and combine, sparking emergent synergies that reward clever play and experimentation, transforming every turn into a complex puzzle of risk, reward, and happy accidents. Set in a hand-drawn dark fantasy world filled with cursed ruins and haunted forests, Pluto introduces grotesque and absurd monsters that ooze menace and dread. Combat is gory but never grim, with enemies splattering into charred puddles as you outrun relentless jailors. The experience is designed for “A-ha!” moments, featuring over eight playable characters, each with unique approaches to spellcasting, and more than five ascending difficulty levels for those seeking a deeper challenge. Runs last around an hour, making them perfect for single-session victories. Developed by two co-creators with all 2D assets crafted by artist DITCH WITCH and creative consulting from Black Lotus Software, Pluto offers a fresh, fast-paced deckbuilding experience where experimentation and cleverness trump rote memorization.
