About 1406
1406 follows the story of Mike Williams, a writer and paranormal specialist who is sent to the abandoned city of Centralia to seek inspiration and complete his book on the supernatural. Despite his expertise, Mike is skeptical about the existence of ghosts and views his work as little more than a source of income. Struggling with writer’s block and distracted by the city’s bustle, he discovers an article about Centralia, a once-thriving mining town in Pennsylvania that was evacuated due to an underground coal fire. Intrigued by the eerie setting and desperate for fresh material, Mike decides to investigate the ghostly remnants of the town firsthand, setting the stage for a chilling journey into the unknown. Centralia’s history is marked by a tragic accident in the 1960s when a landfill fire spread to the coal seams beneath the town, igniting a blaze that continues to burn underground to this day. This disaster forced the complete resettlement of its residents and left the town shrouded in mystery and horror.
