About BAKERU
Disaster strikes Japan as Oracle Saitaro and his Festival Troops unleash a bizarre festival aimed at conquering the nation. In response, BAKERU embarks on an epic journey across all 47 Japanese prefectures to free the land from the grip of malevolent spirits. Set in “Fairy Tale Japan,” a unique blend of modern and historical Japan, the game features over 50 stages filled with thrilling action and rich cultural motifs. Players wield Bakeru’s sacred drum, a treasured artifact passed down by the Tanuki Clan, believed to have the power to purify evil spirits. With straightforward controls, players must navigate through enemies and traps while battling to restore peace to the country. Bakeru’s transformative abilities are central to gameplay, allowing players to obtain a Henge License and assume the forms of legendary Japanese heroes such as Kintaro and Momotaro, each granting unique skills and powers. The Steam release introduces exciting additions including new attacks like Hurricane and Spinning Top, as well as a powerful combo move and the formidable Lantern Boss enemy. Beyond traditional combat, players can experience variant stages where Bakeru transforms into vehicles for high-speed races or takes to the skies for intense aerial battles. With its seamless blend of folklore, action, and diverse gameplay modes, Bakeru offers an engaging adventure through Japan’s mystical landscapes.

Instructions

- Once the game is finished downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to BAKERU v1.0.3.zip” (To do this you will need 7-Zip, which you can get here, or you can use the built in windows extractor).
- Double click inside the BAKERU v1.0.3 folder and run the setup application. Accept the EULA, and install the game. Then, launch the game through the desktop shortcut.
