As the new shop owner, your task is to gather, craft, and sell unique items tailored to your customers’ varied needs—whether it’s a canvas as long as a brachiosaur’s neck or a waterproof paper for a plesiosaur in need. Each Paleofolk has distinct preferences and personalities, challenging you to haggle, pawn, and negotiate your way to the top of the Shop Rankings. Customize your shop’s layout and decor, expand your floorspace, and use your profits not only to enhance your business but also to help rebuild Amber Isle itself, unlocking new areas, amenities, and attracting more residents to revive the island’s fading community. Beyond shopkeeping, Amber Isle invites you to forge meaningful friendships with 48 unique Paleofolk, each offering quests, upgrades, and recipes as your bonds grow stronger. Your customers can even contribute to the island’s revival by establishing their own stalls, cafes, gardens, and communal spaces. Express your creativity by designing your own Paleofolk character, choosing from five body presets and customizing clothes, crests, and colors to fit your style. The story unfolds through interactions with the island’s last residents—Mayor Clawsworth, courier Maple, and intern Adi—as you uncover Amber Isle’s history and work to restore its former glory.
