About Mala Petaka

Mala Petaka is a 2D pixel art shooter-inspired sci-fi FPS running on GZDoom, where you assume the role of Petaka, an angry amnesiac determined to restore his lost memory by exploring multiple universes through warp portal technology. The game challenges you to navigate hostile environments filled with one-eyed aliens and relentless drones, each eager to halt your progress. Starting from a central Hub map, you choose your path through various levels, engaging in intense combat using a diverse arsenal. Weapons range from fists and pistols to shotguns, machine guns, grenade launchers, and plasma rifles, each featuring unique alternate fire modes to keep battles dynamic and strategic. Offering two distinct gameplay modes—Story Mode and Horde Mode—Mala Petaka caters to different player preferences and skill levels, with four difficulty settings from Very Easy to Hard. The game features over 20 enemy types and valuable power-ups like Time Freeze, Rampage, and God Mode to enhance your survivability and combat prowess. Notably, the Fist Barrage mechanic allows you to kill enemies with a single key press, granting health and armor bonuses to sustain your journey. The visual style embraces colorful NES-like cartoony graphics, complemented by authentic 8-bit and chiptune sound effects and music created by renowned Indonesian chiptune artists such as Remedmatika, Shakaboyd, and Remori. Instructions

Double click inside the Mala Petaka folder and run the setup application. Accept the EULA, and install the game. Then, launch the game through the desktop shortcut.
