Forestrike is a martial arts roguelite inspired by classic kung fu cinema, where every fight is a unique challenge and each death brings you closer to victory. You play as Yu, a skilled martial artist on a quest to liberate the Emperor from the grip of a ruthless Admiral. Facing overwhelming odds and deadly foes, Yu must rely on more than just raw strength. The game’s signature mechanic, ‘Foresight,’ allows Yu to mentally rehearse and strategize every encounter within the fortress of his mind before the battle begins. While mastering these rehearsals doesn’t guarantee success, it provides a crucial edge in combat. Every move counts, as defeat means starting over, making careful planning and adaptation essential to progress through randomly generated maps filled with Inns for rest and wise Masters who offer permanent upgrades. As Yu journeys deeper into this visually striking fantasy world, he will encounter five eccentric Masters who teach new techniques to customize and enhance his moveset, allowing for diverse and strategic combat styles.
